“This is For Your Own Good…”

“This is For Your Own Good…” is an animated loop of Batman punching a criminal (from the wrongdoer’s point of view.) During the vicious beating, Batman is repeating “This is for your own good…” This piece is inspired by duplicitous concepts like "Justified Brutality" and "Tough Love". At what point does the hero become worse than the villain? It was also a reminder for me of how easily emotions and violence can escalate in the name of “discipline”
